Not everything at the studio is about buying. Sometimes we simply share things that brought warmth, comfort, or a smile to the studio. If you’d like, sit awhile and enjoy. The hangout belongs to anyone who finds warmth here. If something crosses your path that makes your soul smile and you’d like to pass it forward, you’re welcome to send it along. Everything here is simply because it meant something to us and we wanted to share.
(Not Quincy’s actual space - just a cozy visual that felt like it held a similar tavern spirit. )
You know how sometimes something appears exactly when you need it, and for a moment the noise quiets and stress just melts away? Ever have that happen?
That’s how it felt here at the studio.
Things can get busy and loud sometimes, so we make a point to share small moments with each other that bring warmth, smiles, and occasionally a little cheeky laughter. One day Susi asked Lex about a Facebook page called Quincy’s Tavern.
We stopped. We watched. And afterward we just kind of sat there and said, “Wow… that was really cool.”
There’s something about the storytelling, the warmth, and the simple human presence that felt like everything we look for when we want to decompress.
If you feel like wandering over, you can find Quincy’s Tavern here.
...(You might be walking in mid-conversation — that’s kind of how it works here. If you just walked in, pull up a seat, The link to the whole story is below.)
"What the what am I going to do with a muffin tin, those stupid unrolled crescent rolls, and mystery cheese?!"
Her face was equal parts horror and delight.
So we all chime in... "What the eff did you do?!"
She smiled and said, "Well, you know me! I pulled the muffin tin out, shoved those stupid rolls into each one and shoved the cranberry sauce with a hunk of cheese straight in the middle - hoping beyond hope I didn't just ruin my oven!"
We were all in stitches.
So she says she pulled the muffin tins out of the oven.
NOW... she's a bit theatrical because she knows we are sharing in her horror/adventure... and the look on her face was beyond hilarious. Her face was scrunched, her lips were pursed, and she paused for a gentle moment and exclaimed,
"They were the UGLIEST things I've ever seen!"
We all chimed in, "So what did you do?!"
She laughed—more out of embarrassment than anything—but we don't hide anything in here, and then said:
"I took them with me! GOOD ENOUGH FOR WHO IT'S FOR!"
She said, turning redder in the face by the second.
Then she says, "And wouldn't you know it? They were the star of the table!! GO FIGURE!"
We couldn't contain ourselves anymore and all fell into a barrel of laughs. Lex says out loud, "Well OF COURSE THEY WERE!"
Susi's embarrassment melted into sheer joy, and that became one of our most favored stories inside the studio.
It wasn't dye, it was food—but we all watched the exact same process unfold before our eyes in that story as we do every time a magnificent dye turns out different than what she expected.
She truly is our gem, for no other reason than that she is completely uninhibited about her "mistakes."
